The U.S. Small Business Administration operates a federal contracting program for women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) and economically disadvantage women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). To gain entry to the program, WOSBs/EDWOSBs must meet various regulatory requirements and be formally certified by the SBA or a third-party certifier. After certification, WOSBs/EDWOSBs in designated industries can compete for federal contracts set aside for WOSBs and/or EDWOSBs.
We provide WOSBs/EDWOSBs with assistance and representation before and after certification. Before and during the certification process, we can assist companies in multiple ways:
- Help an applicant determine whether it is eligible for the WOSB/EDWOSB program
- Review documentation supporting an applicant’s WOSB/EDWOSB application
- Assist applicants in responding to SBA or third-party certifier requests for additional information or documentation
After a WOSB/EDWOSB is certified, we can continue to assist WOSBs/EDWOSBs:
- Ensure that WOSBs/EDWOSBs remain compliant with the relevant SBA regulations
- Assist WOSBs/EDWOSBs in responding to program evaluations
- Represent WOSBs/EDWOSBs in protests challenging their status before the SBA
- Represent WOSBs/EDWOSBs in protesting the status of other WOSBs/EDWOSBs in connection with a contract award
- Represent WOSBs/EDWOSBs in appealing status protest determinations before SBA’s Office of Hearings and Appeals
