SBA’s Socioeconomic Programs: Getting a Leg-Up in Federal Contracting

November 8, 2023 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm

SBA’s socioeconomic contracting programs can be a boon for small businesses. As an 8(a) Program participant, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, a woman-owned small business, or a HUBZone company, small businesses can take advantage of set-aside and sole-source contract opportunities.

In this presentation, government contracts attorney Matthew Schoonover will discuss the basics of each program, including eligibility criteria and benefits available to participants. Matt will also discuss the upcoming consolidation of the government’s SDVOSB contracting programs and how that might impact your veteran-owned business.

When pursuing federal contract opportunities, it’s important for small businesses to take advantage of every benefit available to them. Learning about and leveraging SBA’s socioeconomic programs is a great tool to increase your business’s competitiveness.
