Tim Laughlin

Tim is an experienced administrative law attorney. He has represented clients before the Kansas Supreme Court, United States Court of Federal Claims, United States Government Accountability Office, the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and the Kansas Corporation Commission. 

Prior to joining Schoonover and Moriarty LLC, Tim was a solo practitioner at his own firm, Laughlin Law Office, LLC. There, he focused on environmental, energy, and drone law. Tim helped his clients ensure that large corporations and state agencies complied with, and properly enforced, state and federal regulations and statutes involving multimillion-dollar environmental and energy matters.

At Schoonover & Moriarty Tim works closely with his colleagues to assist clients with compliance and regulation of the SBA’s federal contracting programs while also representing them at the Government Accountability Office, Court of Federal Claims and the SBA’s Office of Hearing and Appeals.

Tim and his wife find great joy spending all their time with their young daughter, son, and dog (usually watching Disney movies and going on adventures around Kansas City). Tim serves on various boards and committees, including the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s Attorney Well-being Committee and is currently a mentor to first year law students at Washburn University School of Law. On special occasions you will find Tim spinning records at charity events—a nod to his nine-year career as a professional DJ.
